Tree Planting
The schools Eco club have been planting trees.
The schools Eco Club have planted 60 native trees at the back of the school field this spring. The trees were donated by the Woodland trust, a nationwide charity. The species planted were native hedgerow species; Dogwood, Dog rose, Hawthorn and Hazel.
They were planted at the top of the field, where it is hoped they will help provide habitats for wildlife, increasing biodiversity. As they grow they absorb CO2. They also help to take some of the moisture out of the ground and reduce waterlogging.
Thanks to the Ecoclub for their time in putting these trees in.
