Opportunities for getting involved in the Duke of Edinburghs award
Balcarras offers the Duke of Edinburgh award at Bronze level for Year 10's and Gold level for year 12.
Year 10 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh launch day
The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award Scheme will be launched to Year 10 students on Tuesday 10th September (next Tuesday).
Students who would like to enrol, must attend a meeting after school in the Hall from 3.35pm - 4.15pm.
Parents of those students interested in the Award are invited to an information evening in the school hall from 6pm - 6.45pm, also on Tuesday 10th September.
The DofE award is a great opportunity for students to get involved in community volunteering, learn a skill, take part in physical activity and go on an expedition.

the Gold Duke of Edinburgh will be launched on Tuesday 10th September in a Speaker Session
this will take place on Wednesdays period 5 for year 12 pupils. There is a letter that will be handed out on Tuesday outlining the award and the structure of the year.
