Forget the Euros. Balcarras staff have won the big one (well a staff football tournament). A strong Balcarras team started the tournament with a cagey draw against Cleeve School and after a last minute equaliser from Mr Goodard the tournament was up and running. This was followed by great wins against Bournside, Nunnery Wood and Winchcombe/Leckhampton (known as Winchampton) schools. A change in system saw Mr Hawker move upfront and he showed Harry Kane how to do it with 6 goals and winning the golden boot. Balcarras faced Tewkesbury in the final match and a win would see us lift the trophy. An unbelievable performance from Mr Boughton and some defensive heroics from Mr Linnell & Mr Critchley saw us win 2-0. Finally, Mr Pearce would like to highlight his silky skills in the last game to assist Mr Hawker to the winning goal. Outstanding!
