BALCARRAS PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS TO WELCOME THE VISCOUNT

On Wednesday we had an impromptu welcome ceremony for our brand new Viscount Church Organ. There were several guest performances before a short speech of welcome.

The brand new state of the art Viscount organ was gifted to the school by the Royal College of Organists as part of their scheme to encourage take up of the instrument in state schools.

Mr Howell and Mr Armstrong put in the application earlier this year and we heard in April that we had been successful. Excitement has been building ever since and several of us were just itching to have a go after it arrived in the school on Tuesday.

I am delighted that we now have the facility for pupils who are interested to learn the church organ. Lessons will be available next year.

It was a lovely way to end another superb year for music at the school.
